What new and upcoming garden tours do I have planned for the remainder of 2018 and into 2019?
In May, I will return to Italy for the ninth time to lead a very special Islands and Lakes Garden Tour, starting in Lugano and moving quickly to the Milanese lakes. You can see details here.
From there, we will head to Sardinia and to Naples and the islands of Procida and Ischia.
In the fall, I have an exceptional tour planned to Japan, specially to enjoy the magnificent fall foliage, but also to take in many of the wonderful historical and cultural sites in Japan along with some of the most pictureque and traditional towns and villages.
At night, the beautiful temples and gardens are often illuminated by ambient lighting to allow people to enjoy the foliage colours just as much in the evening as during the day.
See the Japan News video above for a taste of what it is like in Kyoto in the fall. Very beautiful. See full details for the Japan tour here.
In spring 2019, I have a unique tour in mind that will be centred in London and Paris but branch out to take in some of the prettiest and most historic towns and villages of eastern England as well as Paris and surrounds and the Loire region in France.
This tour is still in the pipeline. We will probably start in Paris and visit key places and gardens around the city before heading down to the Loire Valley for more lovely gardens, chateau visits and wine tasting.
From there, we will head back to Paris and then to London and the lovely wool towns of Suffolk as well superb gardens in Norfolk and Cambridgeshire as well a visits to many historic sites and place of special interest.
There is always an interest in the Chelsea Flower Show. Everyone needs to have done it at least once in their life, methinks.
The beauty of Chelsea-time in London is that the whole city is giddy with excitement over spring and Chelsea gives it a fresh energy and vitality. I love London in May.
The idea, too, with this tour is that if you want more time in France, you can add some days on before the tour, and if you want more time in England, you can add some days on at the end of the tour.
Anyway, as I said, this is all a work in progress, so stay tuned. The itinerary will be announced here in the usual way as well as a message sent earlier to those on the advanced notification list.
More about this later this year. If you have any questions or would like to put your name down on our advance list to guarantee early notification, please email me at the address below.
People have already begun putting their names down for this England-France 2019 Tour. I mention this only because I know there will be a cut off at 30 people since I have found from experience that this is the perfect number.
