Pam and Tom Erikson, of Erikson’s Daylily Gardens and Perennials, will host their 18th annual Open House on July 6 and 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The gardens will be in bloom with over 2,500 varieties of daylilies, 650 varieties of hosta and much more. Again this year, the Langley daylily club will have their draw table with lots of wonderful donated prizes from local merchants, including the Otter Co-op, Bonetti Meats, JD Turkey Farm, Krause Farms, Well Seasoned Gourmet Shop, Cedarbrook Bakery and many others.
Proceeds from the draw table this year will be donated to the Aldergrove Starfish BackPack Program, to help feed underprivileged children in the community.
Darts Hill Society will have a tent promoting their new book on Francisca Darts and her beloved garden.
Buds N Petals will be there with an outstanding selection of seeds and plants.
VanDusen Master Gardeners will be on site to answer gardening questions and Ken the BirdHouse Man will be back with new designs of birdhouses for your garden.
Harpist Judy Henry will be there to play soft music for your enjoyment from 11 am to 3 pm each day, and the garden’s cafe will be full of coffees, homemade treats and jams for purchase to help support the Surrey Cat Coalition.
Admission is by donation with gate proceeds donated to the BC Children’s Hospital.
The gardens, being private, are not wheelchair, stroller or walker accessible due to uneven ground and narrow pathways. Please be sure to wear good strolling shoes.
Children are welcome but they must be with adults at all times as there is a pond and since hybridizing is in progress many plants in the garden cannot be touched or picked.
To ensure comfort and enjoyment for everyone, the garden does not permit smoking or vaping and no pets are allowed.
