Next month, I will be leading two back-to-back garden tours to England, North Wales, Ireland and then to the Chelsea Flower Show in London.
Each day of these tours I will be posting stories and photographs here. You can follow along with us as we move. And you will get to see and hear about some of the fabulous gardens we will be visiting including Levens Hall in the Lake District and Powis Castle in Wales and many more.
The tours start in Manchester and before we leave the city I want us to pop in to the Lowry Museum to get a close up look at some of L.S. Lowry’s work which encapsulated some of the most defining factory street scenes of working class Manchester in the early 1900s.
From Manchester, we will quickly move into the exquisite pastoral landscape of the Lake District where we will be visiting Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage and more.
From the Lakes, we move down to North Wales where we want to explore the Llyn Peninsula, including some of the beautiful coastal towns and villages, castles and gardens.
From Wales, we will take a short ferry ride to Ireland where we get our first glimpse of Dublin before heading south to see more gardens and towns in southern Ireland.
Back in Dublin, we will be doing a literary pub tour. From Dublin, we’ll all fly to London in time to go to the magnificent Chelsea Flower Show.
